Ethnographic Fieldwork in Orange Walk District, Belize: June 9-July 1, 2025
Community-based research coupled with ethnographic methods training in Belize, an English-speaking country in Central America!
- Participate in a pre-departure online ethnographic field methods workshop!
- Experience Belizean culture for three weeks doing ethnography!
- Earn four credit hours of undergraduate or graduate level anthropology coursework–the tuition is waived!
- Be a part of a community-based research project on the impact of agricultural development on sugar cane farming families in northern Belize!
- Develop skills in ethnographic methods of data collection!
- Be part of the writing of a published ethnographic field report!
- Present at local, regional, and international conferences!
- Base Program Price: T.B.A (it was $3,799 last year) - (price will be determined by application deadline - includes ground transportation, accommodations, breakfast, dinner, and excursions – lunches and personal expenses are only other costs of participation)
- Group Travel Price: T.B.A. (it was $850 - $1,050 last year) - (estimated price roundtrip air transportation)
- Tuition: Waived! Optional transfer credit to another institution, $100.00 transcript fee (check with your institutional transfer fees, if any).
- Early Application Deadline: mid-February, 2025 - Space is limited, it is best to apply well ahead of the deadline!
- Final Application Deadline: late-February, 2025
- Application Deposit (to secure your placement): $200.00 (goes towards Program Price)
- Online Orientation Meeting: 4-6 PM May 5, 2025
- Online Ethnographic Boot Camp: June 2-8, 2025

- Final Written Assignments Due: July 6, 2025
- Credit: 4 hours (undergraduate or graduate)
